The fact of the matter is that I think most people pray for their ministers, but they do it in a general sense "please guide them, help them know how to lead our church, give them wisdom, etc."
I think those are all great prayers. I just think you need to get more specific!
I've only been a paid staff member of our church for 2 1/2 months and in that time I've had one person ask me how they could pray specifically for me and my ministry which was a result of a children's sermon I did. Cody has been on staff for a year and a half and he hasn't had anyone ask him for a specific. I don't say that to talk down on our church because I know we have been covered in prayer over this time. I'm just saying that in addition to praying for your ministers in general, take a chance to ask them what you can specifically lift up for them! Yes, it might feel a little awkward the first time you ask, but it truly is such an easy way to reach out and bless them!
