Happy New Year!
We had a relaxed evening that included a great dinner, a fun game of Jokers, catching up on what happened over the holidays and calling it at night a 10 p.m. What can I say? When you have babies, staying up till midnight loses its appeal!
This year was special as we've come full circle. We actually celebrated New Years with Josh and Sarah last year too. At the time, we both had recently found out that we were expecting but hadn't shared with each other yet. I feel like I remember both of us having a small, special smile on our face as we said "Happy New Year!" dreaming about what we had laying ahead of us in 2012. Tonight we got to watch our boys play together {ok, they just look at each other right now!} and dream about the fun that's to come in 2013! {also... there were no sly, special smiles on my face tonight. ha!}
I did try out a new recipe this night and it was DELICIOUS! My mom got me the Crockin' Girls cook book for Christmas and I tried out one of their recipes. This is one that will definitely become a staple for us!
{I did adapt this a bit.. I think it calls for a pork loin or something but I had pork chops on hand. Next time I might use 2 cans of apple pie filling. Serve over rice and you have a great meal!}
Here's to 2013!
