Is this thing on?
Sorry that things have been a little bit quiet around these parts this week! Travel season kicked off for college recruiters in the great state of Texas... meaning my days are now filled with lots of driving, standing, talking & hopefully persuading students to come to our university!
While travel season can be fun, it just takes a while to get back into the swing of things! Normally my voice is hoarse after the first week! Thankfully my schedule hasn't been too busy this week... but I know it's coming!
I thought I would give y'all a sneak peek into what a few of my daily sights are as I'm on the road.
The bright yellow glow of lq signifies I'm "home"... even if just for one night in that city!
My table at one of the college fairs this week.
Round tables are the bane of college recruiters existence. Thin, rectangle table blankets are not meant to stay put on round tables. As I cleaned out my travel bag to get ready for a new season, I found some table blanket clips that I've carried with me ALL FOUR YEARS that I've been recruiting. With their help, I showed that round table who's boss! :)
We type up reports to track if a fair was productive or not. Usually, I write it on one card and just keep that card once I make it into the office. It's not uncommon for me to end up losing that card though, so I finally wised up and decided to put my camera phone to use!
Ahh... one of my favorite parts of travel season... the food! I love getting to eat at my favorite places that our town doesn't have and chipotle is definitely at the top of that list!
Sometimes, when doing high school visits, no other parking options are available. So you gotta keep your fingers crossed and hope your car isn't towed while you're there!
{just kidding!}
and finally, travel season wouldn't be possible without our {unofficial} sponsor: the Pumpkin Spice Latte!
So there ya go! A little peek of what my travel days are like. I'm headed home tomorrow and will pass Cody as he's headed out on a recruiting trip. Thankfully, my few single days this weekend will allow me to catch up on some blogs, including a Living Proof Live recap, another Crockpot recipe, and meeting Big Mama!
Hope you're having a great week!
Ha! Love the round table comment! So true, they are awful. And the parking...that can be the biggest stress of travel season.
ReplyDeleteBut, ah, the Chipotle, Panera, and local restaurants that we only get to frequent once a year make it so much better.
Have a great travel season, Abby!
love your nail polish!
ReplyDeletei've actually never been to chipotle. i've heard such great things about it, but we don't have one here.
