And Now You Know The Rest Of The Story.

Remember that one time when we had a great vacation but the most miserable car ride ever?

{recap: lots of expensive parts in our car went 2 hours into our 6 hour road trip, killing the ac. for the super low price of $1400, we could have freezing cool air again.}

 Then, thanks to some swift talking {begging, crying, and offering our first child} by Cody, we found out that they could do the work for half of what they originally told us.

Unfortunately the parts needed to fix our car were on back order, so we've been waiting almost 2 1/2 weeks to have it fixed. We finally got the call on Thursday that the parts were in and if we could drop our car off early Friday morning, it would be fixed that day.

So Friday after work we cheerfully head up to pick up our car, thankful to have it fixed and drivable again. {Ok, it was still drivable. Just not without being miserable in the 100+ degree temps of Texas.} Cody goes in to pick up the keys and pay the bill and comes out with the goofiest grin on his face. I thought he sure looked happy for someone who just made a $700+ credit card charge.

 I mentioned how happy he looked and he handed me the papers showing the bill : $520.00   I couldn't believe it! I am starting to celebrate how lucky we were when Cody stops me and says:

 "Abby, I didn't pay that."

 I give him a look like, "Well ok, how much was it then?" and then Cody proceeds to explain:

"I didn't pay anything. The guy handed me my keys and said Merry Christmas."

The guy {Phil} then walked out to us to remind us that we have three years parts and labor warranty on what they just replaced and to give him a call if we ever need anything. Cody introduced me and I offered to name our first born after him and he said, "Hey, you have friends in high places. We're happy we could help out."

So, what we originally thought was going to be $1,400 and a huge hit to our savings account ended up costing us NADA. Zero dollars. Plus, we're covered for 3 years if something happens again.

We are in such awe and really have no idea how it happened, but as we went to celebrate {high rollin' at Arby's ;)} we couldn't stop gushing and thanking God for this blessing. May we never take gifts from God or chilly AC air for granted!

  1. How wonderful! It is always amazing when God takes care of things like this, even though we've asked him too, it's somehow still surprising. Thank you Lord!
