Dinner Tonight!

This is a super easy recipe to pit together, and it's delicious! Plus, it taste great when you first serve it and it gets better as leftovers!

Sorry that I don't have pictures for you, we're eating it for dinner tonight!

Hawaiian Sandwiches
1 pkg. Hawaiian Rolls
1/2-1 lb. Shaved ham or turkey
1/2-1 lb. Swiss cheese, grated

1 1/2 tsp. minced onion
1 tsp. poppy seed
1 1/2 tsp. prepared mustard
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire
1 stick butter, melted

Slice rolls apart and put bottoms into a greased 9x13 pan. Top each bottom with meat and cheese then put the roll tops on. Melt butter and stir in onion, poppy seed, mustard and Worcestershire. Pour over sandwiches, cover with foil and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours).
When you pour the mixture on the rolls, you're going to think its not enough sauce to work. I don't know how it happens, but know that they will be very juicy the next day and will have plenty of sauce to soak up!
Heat 350 for 20 minutes. Bake with the foil on so the rolls do not burn. Remove the foil the last 5 minutes to brown the rolls.

And a note to self that my mom learned the hard way, be sure and set your dish out of the fridge long enough to take the chill off before putting in your oven!

We're going to have these tonight with a side salad and sweet potato fries. These are great if you're going to have a group over because you can make them the night before and just pop them in the oven while you get other things ready for the party!

  2. Sounds yummy. The mom of a friend of mine used to make something like this using a pan of rolls. And I love the idea using the hawaiian bread for this. Yum!

  4. Hi! Uhmmm. I live in Hawaii and am not sure what a "Hawaiian Roll" is. Ha! We probably call it something different here. Is this the same as "sweet bread"? (I'm laughing even as I write this! Not "sweet bread" as in "innards", but as in bread that is sweet.)
