Ain't No Shame In Our Game...

When it comes to free food!

If you know Cody and me at all, then you know we have an undying love for Chick-Fil-A. At the beginning of our marriage we found a gold mine in the Names and Numbers phone book, which has some of the best coupons in Abilene, including those for Chick-Fil-A. So we have been faithful coupon users over the past year, to the degree that the employees now know us pretty well. And by know us pretty well, I mean they're complementing me on my new hair cut, wishing us a happy anniversary, and stoping to talk to us if we see them in Walmart.

Befriending the employees has definitely paid off, and we frequently get extra discounts on top of our coupon for a free kid's meal. Tonight, however, was a night we have been waiting for since May.

That's right. Dress up like a Chick-Fil-A Cow and get a free meal! Now honestly, we both thought the free meal was just going to be a kid's meal, which was ok with us. Free is free. However, we found out last week that the free meal was a full combo meal if you were dress up. Cody and I have no shame at all, and we will wear (almost) anything you ask if we get free Chick-Fil-A. I mean, last November Cody dressed up as the Chick-Fil-A Cow for an HSU preview event. I don't know why I didn't blog it, but here's a picture if you missed it:

We invited our youth group to join us for the costume party, but only one was able to attend. Without further ado, here's our great costumes!

{note: I realize this is not the best pictures. however, you will see the alternatives were not much better to give you the full view of our costumes :) }
See?

Yes, Cody painted an udder on his shirts. He's crazy, but I knew that when I married him!

We did have one girl show up to party with us. Kaitlyn made an awesome mask!

It was really funny when we walked in. I seriously expected there to be a large group of people who would dress up. I love this place, but I can admit that it is a more expensive fast food chain. So to be able to get a free $6.50 meal, that is totally worth it to me! But I digress. We walk in, and it feels like we are the only people there in costumes. I saw that one family had dressed up, but they took their spots off while they ate dinner. The employees did ring their cow bells for us and we had our picture taken, yet all the other people in normal clothes just gave us funny looks!

The longer we were there, the more people who showed up sporting the costumes. The funny thing was you didn't even have to have on a fancy costume. You could really stick a few cow spots on your clothes with tape, hold a sign that says, "Eat mor chikin" and they gave you the whole meal free! We decided to splurge and buy milk shakes, and we even got those free too! All in all, we had such a fun night.

Yes, even cows need to have their fashion accessories! And please ignore the fact that my cow ears look more like bunny ears :)

We spent about an hour and a half hanging out with Kaitlyn, and once we got home we realized someone else wanted to join in on the fun.

Fun doesn't last long in his book, and he quickly showed us his true feelings!

I have no major plans over the weekend except for catching up on this blog! We've had a busy month, including our one year anniversary celebration, and quite the first day of our second year of marriage! Stay tuned to get caught up!
