With finals behind us and 5 work days left before the holiday vacation actually starts, I am beginning to get in full holiday mode! Being newly married is fun and interesting as we enter our first holiday season together, learning what each families traditions are and trying to figure out what our traditions will be. Sadly, I've only started thought of one tradition so far, that every year when we decorate the tree we'll also have breakfast for dinner, but I'm not too worried about it. I think once we have kids it will be easier and more fun to have traditions.
One of my favorite traditions for our family is our "Hiding Santa" We have this flexible Santa that comes out after Thanksgiving and then pops up at random places in the house, almost like Elf on the Shelf, but we started it way before that! If you find him, it's your duty to hide him for the next person. Even though its been a while since I've been home long enough to fully enjoy hiding Santa, my dad has been emailing me pictures of Santa's adventures so I still get to be a part of the fun! I wanted to share them with y'all, and as soon as I find my own flexible Santa, this will be a game Cody and I play!
Here is Santa in my Mom's face cleaners:
And waiting to get some breakfast:
In the couch, which is also folds out to be my brother's bed:
Nathan's room holds the treadmill, so obviously Santa did not want to watch my dad work out:
Here Santa is enjoying the freshly remodeled bathroom: (Sidenote: it totally feels like you are on a spa retreat when you shower in the new bathroom! Seriously, come to Herford and I'll let you try it out!)
And finally, Santa is using my mom's products to stay looking young:
I love this game and each and every crazy place I find Santa only remind me of how much my family loves me! I encourage you to look for your own Santa to start this game with your family!
Come back in just a few days for the Tour of Homes! I'm putting the finishing touches on our house this weekend!
What a fun idea! I'll need to start looking for a Santa or something fun to hide each day.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a fun tradition! I think I might start something like that at our house, too. Thanks for sharing it.
